Cherry is almost a household name because nearly every family has cheery in their home. And this might be associated with it sweetness and the fun of eating it. However, cherry can be sweet or tart (sour). Cherry is one of the sweetest fruits one can find, it requires no extra preparation before eating aside washing and it is always fun to eat. Cherry comes in colours (black, yellow and red) and shapes (heart and round) and a cherry tree is able to produce about 7,000 fruits a season. Aside cherry’s sweetness, it is packed with so many benefit for the body – from health to skin and hair care. Some of it health benefits includes:

  1. Relief osteoarthritis: the discomfort associated with osteoarthritis (swollen joints and inflammation) has kept a lot of people under pain and they seek natural solution since the prescription of ice and NSAIDs cannot be undergone by some people. Cherry provides a natural relief to osteoarthritis as it contains anthocyanins and cyaniding which might be seen as anti-inflammation nutrient – great for handling osteoarthritis.
  2. Improved sleep: we know that nothing can substitute for a good sleep; but unfortunately, not everyone gets a good sleep. The cause of not getting a good sleep however is not specific but you can improve your sleep with cherry. Cherry contains a high amount of phytochemicals like melatonin which is great for regulation sleep. So if you have a hard time getting a sleep, it will be a great idea to have a tart juice around.
  3. Lowers gout risk: eating cherry can reduce the blood uric acid level which can be associated with gout attack. Gout is known for its great pain but cherry tart juice can provide a great relief and also has the ability to prevent it attack.
  4. Reduced belly fat: belly fat is becoming a great problem for some people and has given a great concern for many. Cherry has great properties which helps to handle belly fat.

Cherry also has great properties for our skin and hair also. For the skin, cherry contains a large amount of vitamins A, B, C and E which is nice for skin care. It is also an antioxidant which can be an anti-aging property. Cherry also is good for hair care as it contains good vitamins and properties which regulates the production of Retinoic acid and it is good for hair follicles. It also helps to keep the hair and scalp hydrated. It also prevents hair breakage and maintains hair colour and texture.
